The 5W3H Principle is based on a series of questions that will lead to an understanding of the key project characteristics.
Be sure to document the project characteristic in the Project Plan.
Procedure
Ask the following questions:
- “Why is the project being undertaken?”
- “What will be done?”
- “When will it be done?”
- “Who is responsible for accomplishing the project?”
- “Where will the project team be physically or organizationally located?”
- “How will the job be done technically?”
- “How will the project be managed?”
- “How much of each resource is needed?”
